Raid Strategy Status

This guide works alongside https://github.com/mod-playerbots/mod-playerbots/wiki/Playerbot-Raid-Completion-Status by going into detail on each strategy coded per boss for each raid, as well as note expected player actions where the coded strategy may be insufficient or not necessary. Please note that the strategies and overall feasibility are made assuming appropriate level gear for that content, although many are also completable using the Individual Progression module nerfs.

Nefarian

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, with some degree of manual control needed.
  • Coded Strategies: None
  • Tips & Tricks: In Phase 2, use RTSC to place main tank for Nefarian by the stairs facing away from the raid. Use the "co +tremor" strategy for shamans to use tremor totem, and remove tank assist ("co -tank assist") from main tank to avoid him moving Nefarian around when the skeleton adds spawn in Phase 3.

Burning Crusade

Karazhan

*This raid is completable with suggested IP nerfs. Strategies were written and tested with 1) bot damage and healing each reduced to 50% of normal strength, and 2) HP of all raid mobs restored to Patch 2.4.3 levels (reverting the global 30% nerf to HP of TBC raid mobs from Patch 3.0.2).

Attumen the Huntsman & Midnight

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • The main tank will tank Midnight, and bots will focus DPS on Midnight.
    • When Attumen spawns, the assist tank will pick him up and move him away from the raid because he cleaves.
    • When Midnight reaches 25% health and Attumen mounts Midnight, starting phase 2, the main tank will pick up Attumen and drag him to the middle of the stable, and other bots will briefly pause DPS.
    • In phase 2, all bots other than the tank will stack up behind Attumen, inside the minimum range of his Berserker Charge.
  • Tips & Tricks: Since bots are not aware of their surroundings, you may want to clear the trash past Midnight (by Koren) before pulling.

Moroes

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Bots will mark adds with the skull icon and prioritize accordingly based on the standard kill order (Millstipe first, Vonindi second, etc.), taking into account which four adds were randomly chosen. But in practice, the adds will likely be grouped up, and bots will AoE them down.

Maiden of Virtue

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • The main tank will position Maiden in the middle of the room, and ranged bots will fan out around the center, between the pillars.
    • When Maiden casts Repentance, the tank will move her to a healer to use the Holy Ground to break the healers stun.
    • Shamans use Grounding Totem to absorb Holy Wrath.

Opera Event

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Bots will switch the skull icon back and forth between Romulo and Julianne as needed to try to kill them at about the same time.
    • Bots will mark the Wizard of Oz bosses with the skull icon and prioritize accordingly based on the standard kill order (Dorothee, Tito, Roar, Strawman, Tinhead, Crone). Mage bots will spam Scorch on Strawman to disorient him.
    • The main tank will position the Big Bad Wolf in the front left corner of the stage (from the perspective of facing the stage). Bots that are transformed into Little Red Riding Hood will attempt to run around the stage to get away from the Big Bad Wolf.
  • Tips & Tricks: To speed up your clear, you can talk to Barnes and initiate the Opera Event while letting bots clear the final trash mobs. You will likely still have plenty of time to prepare to engage the boss due to the long intro to the event.

The Curator

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • The main tank will position Curator in a designated spot in the center of the hallway near the entrance to the Guardians Library.
    • Ranged bots will spread out, and all bots will mark and prioritize destroying Astral Flares.
    • The assist tank will stay on Curator (instead of picking up Flares) to try to stay second on aggro to absorb Hateful Bolts.
    • Bots will save Bloodlust/Heroism until Curator uses Evocation and is vulnerable to double damage.

Terestian Illhoof

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies: Bots will mark and prioritize targets with the skull icon in the following order: (1) Demon Chains, (2) Kilrek, and (3) Terestian Illhoof.

Shade of Aran

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Ranged bots will attempt to maintain spread positions outside of Arans Counterspell range.
    • When Aran casts Massive Magnetic Pull, bots will run to the edge of the room to escape the Arcane Explosion.
    • When Aran casts Flame Wreath, and for the duration of the Flame Wreath aura being active, bots will stop moving.
    • When Aran summons Conjured Elementals, bots will mark and prioritize them with the skull icon.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Coded strategies do not persist after Aran dies so if Flame Wreath is active when he dies, make sure to manually command bots to stay or they will blow up the raid.

Netherspite

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies: Bots are assigned to block beams during the Portal Phase, and proper raid composition is important to ensure sufficient beam coverage.
    • Tank bots are assigned to block the red beam. Each tank will block the red beam for an entire Portal Phase and will dance in and out of the beam to avoid taking too many stacks of the debuff.
    • Mana-user DPS bots are assigned to block the blue beam. They will transition at 25 stacks of the debuff, and therefore two such bots are required for each Portal Phase.
    • Healer and non-mana-user DPS bots are assigned to block the green beam. Non-mana-user DPS will be prioritized, and if they are assigned, they will remain in the beam for the duration of the Portal Phase (since there is no disadvantage to them from the debuff). Only if there are not enough eligible non-mana-user DPS bots will healers block the green beam, and they will transition at 25 stacks of the debuff.
    • Bots will briefly pause DPS when Netherspite is pulled and again upon each transition into the Portal Phase.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Netherspite is bugged in AzerothCore in that the beams cannot be blocked inside of Netherspites hitbox, even though they visually continue to his center (and were blockable inside his hitbox in retail). The bots will account for this, but the player should also be aware in the event that the player needs to block a beam. Additionally, this makes it important to pull the boss in the middle of the room since if the boss is too close to a portal, it will be impossible to block the beam.
    • The players primary role during the Portal Phase (other than filling in for a bot that dies without replacement) should be to back up the bots on beams. Bots may not transition blocking duties as quickly as competent players. In particular, any gap in blocking of the Green Beam can be disastrous. Accordingly, if a healer bot is blocking the Green Beam, players should be prepared to step in temporarily when the transition occurs.
    • During the Banish Phase, it is your choice whether to continue to DPS the boss or to bring the raid out of range of Netherbreath and wait for the next Portal Phase to reengage.

Chess Event

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no bot involvement needed.
  • Coded Strategies: None.
  • Tips & Tricks: From Whites point of view, use your first three turns to move pawns forward to b3, d3, and g3. Use your next two turns to move rooks to a2 and g2. If Medivh sets a fire under your king or queen, stop what you are doing and immediately move them out of the fire. Thereafter, generally focus on controlling the queen and using Fireball (Horde) or Elemental Blast (Alliance) to target the opposing king. This method is effective but not guaranteed, as success is dependent on RNG (including where Medivh moves the king and what cheats he uses and when). Depending on the situation, it may be helpful to capture other pieces before the king (in particular, the opposing bishops and/or queen).

Prince Malchezaar

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Bots that are Enfeebled will run out of Shadow Nova range and should select escape vectors that do not come in range of any Netherspite Infernals Hellfire.
    • All bots will attempt to avoid Infernals. The tank will attempt to stay a bit further from the Infernals than other bots to try to give players and other bots (particularly melee DPS) some room to maneuver.
    • Bots will save Bloodlust/Heroism until phase 3 (Malchezaar at 30% HP), when the Infernal spawn rate increases drastically.

Nightbane

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes. During phase changes, the player will be responsible for leading bots to the correct positions in anticipation of combat (discussed below). No RTSC is needed; just make sure to run to the general area called for by the strategies at the right time.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • The tank will pick up Nightbane during each ground phase and back up against the balcony so that Nightbane is positioned perpendicularly from the raid. AoE avoidance is intentionally disabled for the tank. This is necessary to prevent the tank from spinning Nightbane and causing him to face the raid.
    • Priest bots will cast Fear Ward on the tank, and Shaman bots will drop Tremor Totems.
    • Ranged bots will move in a single coordinated stack to avoid Charred Earths. Melee bots rely on the standard bot “avoid aoe” strategy.
    • When the flight phase starts, bots will mark Nightbane with a moon and stop attacking. They will stack at a position near Nightbanes flight phase position so he does not use Fireball Barrage. When Rain of Bones is cast and Restless Skeletons spawn, all bots will move away and stack in a new position that is outside of Rain of Bones before killing the Skeletons.
    • Hunter and Warlock pets are set to passive during the flight phase. Players should make sure to do this as well. The maps on the Masters Terrace are extremely buggy, and pets will chase Nightbane into midair and may even run out of the tower grounds, which can cause Restless Skeletons to spawn in odd places and even aggro mobs from other parts of the instance. Because of this, bots are disabled from using any temporary pets (e.g., Spirit Wolves, Water Elementals, Treants) during the encounter.
    • The flight phase lasts for 45 seconds, but Nightbane is not aggressive during the final 10 seconds (when he is preparing to land). Nightbane will yell that he is landing, and at that point bots will follow the player as usual so feel free to position however you would like before Nightbane lands.
    • Bots will pause DPS after the pull and after each transition into the ground phase to allow the tank to get aggro.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • There is a tendency for mobs to pull through the floor of the Masters Terrace, and it is suggested that prior to the encounter, you clear all mobs from the Livery Stables, including the upper level, and the Scullery.

Magtheridon's Lair

*This raid is completable with IP module nerfs. Strategies were written and tested with (1) bot damage and healing each reduced to 50% of normal strength, and (2) HP of all raid mobs restored to Patch 2.4.3 levels (i.e., reverting the global 30% nerf to HP of TBC raid mobs from Patch 3.0.2).

Magtheridon

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies: The strategy is designed for a raid with three traditional tanks, but having that many is not critical.
    • During phase one, the main tank (determined by setting the client-side main tank flag) will tank three of the Hellfire Channelers, and the second and third off tanks will each tank one Channeler, dragging them away from the raid out of Shadow Bot Volley range. DPS bots will prioritize Channelers by RTI marks (in order, Square, Star, Circle, Diamond, and Triangle).
    • Also during phase one, Warlocks will be assigned to Banish the Burning Abyssals (and Fear any in excess of the number of Warlocks in the raid).
    • After the first three Channelers are down, the main tank will wait by Magtheridon to pick him up when he activates, while the remainder of the raid finishes the final two Channelers. When Magtheridon is released, the main tank will pull him to the East side of the room. DPS will wait a few seconds before attacking Magtheridon to prevent them from pulling aggro while the tank gets positioned.
    • To handle the Manticron Cubes, one ranged DPS bot (excluding Warlocks) will be assigned to click each Cube. Warlocks are excluded for initial assignments so they can keep residual Abyssals crowd controlled and focus their high DPS on the boss. The strategy will automatically reassign a Cube clicker if the previously assigned bot dies, and if there are not five living non-Warlock ranged DPS alive, then any living non-tank bot can be selected.
    • Shortly before Magtheridon casts Blast Nova, each bot that is assigned to a Cube will move to their Cube and wait in position a short distance away. They will move in to use the Cube as soon as the Blast Nova cast begins. Once Blast Nova is interrupted, they will return to the fight and will repeat the cycle until the boss is down.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • It is helpful (though not required) for Warriors and/or Druids to tank the fourth and fifth Channelers because they will be able to keep the Channelers consistently interrupted (particularly their Dark Mending heals).
    • Blast Nova is scheduled to be cast about every 55 seconds. Each Quake delays the next Blast Nova by 7 seconds, and the ceiling collapse at 30% HP reduces the next Blast Nova by 18 seconds. Cube handling code is based on these times. However, as of the time of this guide, there is an unexplained bug that results in Magtheridon, at low HP, casting Blast Nova on a much shorter timer. This can be as short as ~20 seconds since the prior cast (which is too soon for the Mind Exhaustion debuff to even fade from the clickers).

Gruuls Lair

*This raid is completable with IP nerfs. Strategies were written/tested with (1) bot damage and healing each reduced to 50% of normal strength, and (2) HP of all raid mobs restored to Patch 2.4.3 levels (i.e., reverting the global 30% nerf to HP of TBC raid mobs from Patch 3.0.2).

High King Maulgar

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies: The strategy is designed for a raid with three traditional tanks, a Mage tank with 9000+ buffed max HP, and a Moonkin Druid tank (special gearing not necessary).
    • The main tank (determined by setting the client-side main tank flag) will tank Maulgar. The other two traditional tanks will tank Olm and Blindeye. The Mage tank (which the strategy selects as the Mage bot in the raid with the highest max HP) will tank Krosh by Spellstealing Kroshs Spell Shield. The Moonkin tank (Moonkin bot in the raid with the highest max HP) will tank Kiggler, but it is not truly necessary, and the fight can be completed with no Moonkin Druid in the raid.
    • Ranged DPS will prioritize targets in the following order: Blindeye, Olm, Krosh, Kiggler, Maulgar
    • Melee DPS will prioritize targets in the following order: Blindeye, Olm, Kiggler, Maulgar
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Pull the boss head-on and send your traditional tanks in to start the encounter.
    • All tanks (except the Moonkin tank) have designated spots in the room—be careful not to stand too close to Krosh.
    • If playing with IP nerfs, the fight will likely be difficult without a Mage tank with sufficient HP not to get one-shot by Krosh. At pre-raid gear levels, achieving enough HP will likely require some intentional stacking of stamina gear and/or enchants.

Gruul the Dragonkiller

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies: Two tanks are needed, a main tank and an offtank to absorb Hurtful Strike. The main tank will attempt to keep Gruul in the center of the room, and ranged bots will spread in a circle around the center point. Bots will attempt to spread out as much as possible after Ground Slam is used in advance of Shatter.
  • Tips & Tricks: In appropriate gear levels, the bots are likely to start dying to Shatter before 10 stacks of Growth, as they do not spread as well as coordinated players. This should be plenty of time to kill Gruul with IP nerfs and pre-raid gear (not even pre-raid BiS needed), but if you are struggling to get the kill before then, you may need to farm more gear or better optimize the composition of your raid.

Serpentshrine Cavern

*This raid is completable with suggested IP nerfs.

Trash Mobs

  • Greyheart Tidecaller: Bots will mark and destroy Water Elemental Totems immediately.
  • Underbog Colossus: Some Colossi leave behind a lake of toxin when they die that quickly kills any player that is standing in it. Bots will run out of the toxin, even when out of combat.

Hydross the Unstable

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Two tanks are needed. The main tank will tank the frost phase, and the first assist tank will tank the nature phase. Any additional tanks will be responsible for picking up adds.
    • The main tank will tank Hydross until Mark of Hydross reaches 100%. At that point, the main tank will cross the invisible barrier to transition Hydross into nature phase, and the first assist tank will pick up Hydross. When Mark of Corruption reaches 100%, the first assist tank will cross the invisible barrier to transition Hydross into frost phase, and the main tank will pick Hydross up again. This repeats for the duration of the fight.
    • Bots will stop DPS after Marks reach 100% and will not resume until 5 seconds after Hydross transitions.
    • Hunters will Misdirect Hydross to the applicable tank upon the pull and after each phase change.
    • DPS will prioritize adds that spawn upon phase transitions.
    • Ranged will spread during the frost phase to mitigate the impact of Water Tomb.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Have at least one Paladin/Shaman switch to Frost Resistance Aura/Frost Resistance Totem, and at least one Hunter switch to Aspect of the Wild.
    • Frost/nature resist gear for tanks is helpful if you are playing with IP nerfs, particularly if your gear is poor. Consider using the crafted three-piece plate sets from Violet Eye (frost) and Cenarion Expedition (nature).
    • The best way to pull the boss is the same way as in retail. Kill all the Tainted Water Elementals and then approach Hydross from the side, hugging the wall. Then command your main tank to attack to start the fight. This ensures that Hydross does not transition into his nature phase immediately upon the pull.

The Lurker Below

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • The main tank has a designated tanking spot in front of a column due to Lurker using multiple knockbacks.
    • Ranged bots spread in an arc directly across from the main tank.
    • When Lurker casts Spout, all bots will run around behind Lurker for the duration of the cast.
    • When Lurker submerges, if you have at least three tanks, the first three will each pick up one of the Coilfang Guardians.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • If you have bot fishing enabled in the config, bots that have the fishing skill will join you in attempting to catch Lurker. If you allow the bots to fish, then as soon as Lurker spawns, you need to command the bots to “equip upgrade” because they will not automatically switch from their fishing poles. You may need to issue the command multiple times because sometimes bots will not equip their offhand/shield after the first command.

Leotheras the Blind

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Upon the pull, bots will mark and kill Greyheart Spellbinders. They will not waste Bloodlust/Heroism before the boss activates.
    • During Phase 1, ranged bots will attempt to keep their distance from Leotheras in preparation for Whirlwind. When he channels Whirlwind, all bots but tanks will run away until the channel is finished.
    • During Phase 2, Leotheras will be tanked by a Warlock who will spam Searing Pain. You can select the Warlock tank by using the assistant flag. All other bots will move away from the Warlock tank. There is a 12-second pause on DPS upon the phase transition because the Warlock tank will need some time to build aggro.
    • Hunters will Misdirect Leotheras in Phase 2 (and Shadow of Leotheras in Phase 3) to the Warlock tank.
    • If a melee bot acquires five or more stacks of Chaos Blast (either because melee pulls aggro or you do not have a living Warlock), the bot will run out of melee range (unless it is tanking Leotheras at the time).
    • When Inner Demons spawn, affected bots will direct all DPS to their Inner Demon. For healers and Feral Druid tanks, specific ability sequences are coded because their normal strategies are not sufficient to kill their Inner Demons. For example, Resto Druids will shift out of Tree Form, cast Barkskin, and then spam Wrath.
    • In Phase 3, bots will focus all DPS on Leotheras, while the Warlock tank picks up the Shadow of Leotheras. Melee tanks will move Leotheras away from the Warlock tank so melee does not get hit by Chaos Blast.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Have at least one Paladin/Shaman switch to Fire Resistance Aura/Fire Resistance Totem. Fire resistance gear for your Warlock tank is not required but is recommended. Surviving Chaos Blast is based on luck, and your odds go up with more fire resistance. Consider using the Infernoweave pieces that can be purchased with Badges of Justice.

Fathom-Lord Karathress

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • The strategy uses four tanks. The main tank will tank Karathress. The first through third assistant tanks will tank, in order, Caribdis, Sharkkis, and Tidalvess.
    • The boss and three adds each have a designated tanking position, and their respective tanks will pull them to those positions at the beginning of the fight. Karathress is tanked near his starting position. Caribdis is pulled far to the West near the corner. Sharkkis is pulled North to the other side of the ramp. Tidalvess is pulled Northwest toward the pillar.
    • Carbidis has a dedicated healer who can be set with the assistant flag.
    • Hunters will Misdirect upon the pull. Misdirect priority is the Caribdis tank, Tidalvess tank, then Sharkkis tank. There is a delay of 12 seconds for the tanks to pick up their respective targets and move them to the designated positions.
    • Melee DPS will prioritize targets as follows: Spitfire Totems, Tidalvess, Sharkkis, Sharkkiss pet, and Karathress. Ranged DPS will prioritize targets as follows: Tidalvess, Caribdis, Sharkkis, Sharkkisss pet, and Karathress.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • One effective way to pull is to stand North from Karathress, across the ramp, and send all four tanks in from there.

Morogrim Tidewalker

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Hunters will Misdirect the boss to the main tank upon the pull.
    • The main tank will tank Tidewalker with its back against the Northeast pillar. When Tidewalker reaches 26%, in anticipation of Phase 2 (starting at 25%), the main tank will move around the pillar into the Northeast corner to ensure the greatest possible travel distance for the Water Globules.
    • When Tidewalker reaches 25%, ranged will also move around the pillar and stack up with melee in the corner.
    • Shamans will wait until Murlocs spawn before using Bloodlust/Heroism.
    • Note that there are no coded strategies for dealing with the Murlocs or Watery Graves because bots already deal with them fairly well with their ordinary strategies.
  • Tips & Tricks: None

Lady Vashj

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed, but raid cheats must be enabled in the config.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 1:
    • Bots will not use Bloodlust/Heroism (delayed until Phase 3).
    • The main tank will move Vashj to the center of the platform. Ranged bots will fan out in an arc to allow for escape from Static Shock.
    • Any Shaman in the main tanks group will place a Grounding Totem in range of the main tank to absorb Shock Burst.
    • Bots with Static Shock (excluding the main tank) will move away from other bots and stay away until the aura is removed. If the main tank has Static Shock, other bots will move away from the main tank.
    • If a melee bot is Entangled with Static Shock, a Paladin will assist if possible with Hand of Freedom.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 2 (Dealing with Adds):
    • Phase 2 uses a custom target priority system for bots. Melee DPS will prioritize Enchanted Elementals, then Coilfang Elites. Hunters and Mages will prioritize Enchanted Elementals, Coilfang Striders, then Elites. Other ranged DPS will prioritize Striders, Elites, then Enchanted Elementals. The highest priority Enchanted Elemental at any given time is the one that is closest to Vashj.
    • Tanks generally prioritize Elites. However, if you have raid cheats enabled, tanks will be immune to fear during Phase 2. This allows them to tank Striders, and the first assist tank will then prioritize Striders and move them away from other bots. The standard strategy for real players is to kite the Striders, but bots cannot kite, and therefore the cheat is needed to keep Striders under control. Note that it is actually possible to tank Striders (and melee DPS them) in retail by wearing a Gordok Ogre Suit to extend your combat reach and standing at the very edge of melee range. If you decide not to use the cheat, bots will try to keep Striders slowed with Frost Shock, Curse of Exhaustion, and Slow.
    • For several reasons, it is not possible to replicate a real player strategy for killing Tainted Elementals, which would require the assignment of different groups to different sections of the stairs. Thus, enabling raid cheats will result in a melee DPS bot being assigned as the “designated core looter.” When a Tainted Elemental spawns, the looter will teleport to it and attack it. While fighting the Tainted Elemental, the looter will be given infinite HP recovery since there will be no healer present. After killing the Tainted Elemental, the looter will loot the Tainted Core and begin the passing sequence described below.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 2 (Passing the Core):
    • The sequence from looting the Core and using it on a generator requires at least three and up to five players, depending on how far away the nearest generator is from the Tainted Elemental. In addition to the designated looter, four bots will be assigned as core passers. The first three passers are healers, and the final passer (who will rarely be needed) is a ranged DPS. The specific roles can be assigned with the assistant flag. In practice, the simplest method is to put the assistant flag on one healer, who will be the first passer who runs to the top of the stairs to receive the Core from the looter. This healer should be your worst healer. You can also give your worst ranged DPS the assistant flag to be the fourth passer if you want. It is not that important which healers are assigned as the second and third passers as healing is simply not very important during Phase 2.
    • When the Tainted Elemental spawns, the first passer will run to the top of the stairs between the looter and the nearest generator to the Tainted Elemental, and the second passer will run to the generator (or as close to it as possible while remaining in passing range of the first passer, if the generator is too far away). The looter will throw the Core to the first passer, who will throw the core to the second passer, who will then use the Core on the generator if close enough. If the generator is too far away for the second passer to shut down, the third passer will move to the generator (or as close as possible while remaining in range of the second passer). Finally, if the third passer is not close enough to use the Core on the generator, the fourth passer will then move to the generator and receive and use the Core.
    • While the Core passing sequence is active, the passer bots are given immunity to fear. This is needed because bots cannot be rooted. The coded strategies force them to stay in place while holding the Core to simulate the rooting mechanic, but if a bot holding the Core is feared, it will run around (instead of being feared in place like should be the case). Without immunity, the bot would then end up out of position but unable to return to position, thus causing a softlock in the passing sequence.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 3:
    • Bots will first clean up adds before moving to Vashj. The exception is Hunters, which will always prioritize killing Toxic Sporebats (switching to Vashj if there are no Sporebats up).
    • The main tank will attempt to keep Vashj away from Enchanted Elementals.
    • Bots will avoid Toxic Pools, and the main tank will move Vashj out of them.
    • If a melee bot is Entangled with Static Shock or in a Toxic Pool, a Paladin will assist if possible with Hand of Freedom.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Playing DPS is by far the most impactful role for a player in this fight. Phase 2 is dynamic and unpredictable, and while bots do quite well, they are nowhere near the level of a good player with respect to such a situation. By playing DPS, players can fill a backup role and assist wherever more support is needed for adds as they spawn.
    • It is rare but possible for the Tainted Elemental to spawn in a location where the nearest generator is behind some terrain that results in Core passers being out of LoS of each other. If that happens, command the bots to destroy the Core to reset them for the next Tainted Elemental.
    • It is also possible for bots to get stuck inside of the generators, which causes them to be trapped out of LoS of the rest of the raid. This issue is not caused by the coded strategy, and the only solution is to summon the trapped bot.
    • If you want an added challenge, dont bring any Hunters so that Sporebats will not be killed during Phase 3. In TBC Classic, the Sporebats have greatly increased HP to the point that it is not practical to kill them. That makes Phase 3 a very tight DPS race to try to burn down Vashj before the entire platform is covered with Spores. With IP nerfs and appropriate gear, it can be an extremely fun experience to replicate.

Tempest Keep The Eye

*This raid is completable with suggested IP nerfs.

Trash Mobs

  • Crimson Hand Centurion: Mages will spam Polymorph when Arcane Flurry is being channeled in order to interrupt the spell.

Alar

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed, but proper pre-pull positioning is important (see Tips & Tricks below).
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 1:
    • The main tank and first assist tank will rotate platforms to tank the boss. The main tank will start at the West platform to pick up Alar on the pull, and the first assist tank will start at the Northwest platform. When Alar moves to the Northwest platform, the main tank will move to the Northeast platform, and so on, to ensure there is always a tank at the next platform ready for the boss.
    • Melee dps will follow Alar from platform-to-platform. Ranged dps and healers will also follow Alar but from below. The second assist tank will pick up Embers of Alar, which will be prioritized by ranged DPS.
    • When Alar starts the Flame Quills sequence, melee will jump down. The main tank will wait at the bottom of the West ramp, and the first assist tank will wait at the bottom of the East ramp, for Alar to land (which is random and can be either the West or East platform). Ranged will wait in the center of the room, and melee DPS will wait near the rooms entrance, until Alar picks a platform.
    • When Alar dies, all bots will move to and wait near the center of the room for Alar to respawn.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 2:
    • The main tank will pick up Alar, but when Melt Armor is applied, the first assist tank will take over. The tanks will swap back and forth throughout the phase as the debuff is applied.
    • The second assist tank and whichever of the main tank or first assist tank that is not tanking Alar will together pick up Embers of Alar for ranged DPS to focus down.
    • Bots will avoid Flame Patches and also will spread out during the Dive Bomb sequence.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Alar always starts the fight by landing on the West platform (right at the top of the ramp). The best way to pull is to have all ranged bots and your third tank stay below the West platform with “nc +stay” (NOT the “stay” command), and then pull at the West platform with melee DPS and your first two tanks following you.
    • It is best to use a Warrior or Druid for the main tank and first assist tank. This is because they can charge to get to Alar faster after Flame Quills to limit the stacking of Flame Buffet.

Void Reaver

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Ranged bots will start the fight by spreading in a circle around the boss. After the initial spread, they will run to avoid Arcane Orbs, staying at range to keep the Orbs from hitting melee.
    • The tanks will fight for aggro and try to keep the boss in the middle of the room.
    • Bots that have abilities that drop aggro (such as Warlocks and Hunters) will use them immediately when targeted by Void Reaver. *Tips & Tricks:
    • At least three tanks are recommended to ensure that the boss is always aggroed on a tank.

High Astromancer Solarian

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Ranged bots will stack at a distance from the boss.
    • All bots will run away from players/bots when targeted with Wrath of the Astromancer.
    • When the boss disappears, all bots will stack and wait for the Solarium Agents to spawn.
    • When Solarian reappears, melee will split into two groups and each target one of the Solarium Priests.
    • Priest bots will cast Fear Ward on the main tank in phase 2.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • None.

Kaelthas Sunstrider

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed, but moving to proper positions with bots between advisors and phases helps greatly (see Tips & Tricks below).
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 1:
    • Thaladred: The fixated bot will attempt to “kite” Thaladred, but this is done by simply moving away from him in a straight line.
    • Sanguinar: The main tank will tank Sanguinar and move him up against the West wall. Priest bots will cast Fear Ward on the tank. DPS will wait 12 seconds before attacking.
    • Capernian: A Warlock tank will pick up the boss by spamming Searing Pain. The specific Warlock can be selected with the assistant flag. Ranged bots will spread in an arc at distance from Capernian, and ranged DPS will wait 12 seconds before attacking. The main tank will stand near Capernian to try to bait Conflagrations, but all other melee will stay far away and not engage.
    • Telonicus: The first assist tank will tank Telonicus and move him up against the West wall near Sanguinars position. DPS will wait 12 seconds before attacking.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 2:
    • The main tank will tank the Axe and keep it away from the group, and assist tanks will try to tank all of the other legendary weapons.
    • Bots will generally use their default AoE attack strategies, but for single targeting, they will focus down the legendary weapons in the following order: Staff, Mace, Sword, Dagger, Axe (ranged only), Bow, Shield.
    • Bots will loot and equip weapons based on spec—for specifics on which specs will equip which weapons, see the RaidTempestKeep.cpp file.
    • Hunters will use the Bow to create and equip the legendary Arrows, and wielders of the Staff will use it to activate its protective aura.
    • From this point on, if bots die, they will lose equipped legendary weapons and will not automatically reequip. They can be made to reequip by commanding them to “equip weapon.” Otherwise, they automatically call “equip upgrade” when within 150 yards of Kaelthas to ensure that they are equipped for the encounter.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 3:
    • When the advisors respawn but before they reactivate, the main tank, first assist tank, and Warlock tank will move to designated positions to get ready to pick up their assigned targets. A healer will follow them. All other bots will follow the player until the advisors reactivate (assuming the player is not filling one of the above roles).
    • Bots will first kill Thaladred. Then, melee and one Hunter will move to Sanguinar (Hunter to apply the debuff from the legendary Bow). Ranged will target Capernian instead and then help with Sanguinar before all bots finish Telonicus.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 4:
    • The main tank will pick up Kaelthas and move him back to his starting position. Other tanks will pick up Phoenixes and try to keep them away from the raid.
    • DPS will not attack Phoenixes but will attack Phoenix Eggs.
    • All bots will move out of Flame Strikes.
    • When Kaelthas casts Mind Control, bots that have the legendary Dagger equipped (Rogues, Hunters, Enhancement Shamans, and Fury Warriors) will attack mind-controlled bots to break the MC.
    • When Kaelthas puts up Shock Barrier, all bots will focus DPS to break the barrier and interrupt the Pyroblast. The main tank will use the legendary Shields ability so that if the bots fail to break the barrier in time, the tank can survive the first Pyroblast.
  • Coded Strategies for Phase 5:
    • Bots will spread out after Gravity Lapse is cast. Note that gravity mechanics do not work properly on bots. They will fall toward the ground immediately, and some of them will go back to standing, while others will remain floating but just above the ground. Unfortunately, bots that are floating are unable to attack or cast spells, which can be a problem if your healers end up floating. They may even be unable to return to the ground after Gravity Lapse ends. These are issues with bots generally and cannot be solved by this strategy.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • While the positions for Sanguinar and Telonicus are fixed, they are not for Capernian and Thaladred. It is best for Capernian to die in phase 1 near her starting position; to allow that, you will want the raid to be in front of her, about 30 yards away, when she activates. It is best for Thaladred to die far South in the room away from the other advisors. To allow this, have bots stay a distance away from him to the South when the fight starts and reactivate follow when he gets farther South. How far you want to wait depends on your raids DPS. If you do this, make sure to message “follow” to the raid again after he dies, or the last bot to get fixated will stay where it was when Thaladred died.
    • Before phase 3, if you are not tanking (in which case youll need to stay near Sanguinar/Telonicus before they reactivate), you can lead the bots to near Thaladred since he will be the first target (and preferably not North of him to avoid him immediately heading back toward the other advisors).
    • The best tank combination is Paladin or Warrior main tank (so they can equip the Shield to absorb Pyroblast if needed) and Druid first assist tank (so it can equip the Staff to protect itself and the main tank in phase 3).
    • It is helpful for Shamans to have co +tremor enabled for at least phase 1 and 3 because Sanguinar fears.

Zul'Aman

*This raid is completable with suggested IP nerfs.

Trash Mobs

  • Amanishi Medicine Man: Bots will mark and destroy (1) Protective Wards and then (2) Healing Wards.

Akil'zon

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Tanks position the boss in the middle of the platform.
    • Ranged spread 13 yards from raid members to avoid chaining Static Disruption.
    • About 5 seconds before Electrical Storm is cast, the entire raid will collapse onto the main tank and wait for the storm to dissipate before spreading back out.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • If you are attempting a timed run for the bear mount from mod-individual-progression, Akilzon should be killed first.

Nalorakk

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Tanks position the boss toward the back of the platform (down the stairs from Nalorakks starting position).
    • The main tank will tank the boss in troll form, and the first assist tank will tank the boss in bear form.
    • Ranged spread 11 yards from raid members to avoid multiple bots getting caught in Surge.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • None.

Janalai

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed, though some manual marking and targeting of adds can be very helpful.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Tanks position the boss in the middle of the platform.
    • Ranged spread in a circle around the boss, 15 yards away, to avoid clumping for the Flame Breath cone.
    • When Fire Bombs appear, bots will find a safe spot to wait out the explosion.
    • When Hatchers spawn, bots will mark one with Skull and kill it. They will mark the other with Moon and ignore it (and also will not cc it). See Tips & Tricks below for more information regarding this strategy.
    • Bots will save Bloodlust/Heroism until eggs hatch.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • The Skull/Moon marking is to allow one Hatcher to hatch all of the eggs on one side. All unhatched eggs immediately hatch when the boss reaches 35% HP, which will overwhelm the raid, so it is necessary to allow some to hatch earlier.
    • After one side is hatched, the Moon-marked Hatcher will run to the other side. At that point, you can just let them hatch the other side as well, or you can override the Moon mark and kill the Hatcher if you are not ready for more eggs to hatch.
    • The fight can get very hectic if eggs hatch during a Fire Bomb sequence. The assist tank is the most important role for this fight, so if you are tanking, you may wish to let the bot tank handle main tanking duties.

Halazzi

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Tanks position the boss toward the back of the room.
    • The first assist tank will pick up the Lynx whenever it spawns.
    • Bots will focus DPS on Corrupted Lightning Totems and then the boss (they will ignore the Lynx).
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • If you are tanking, make sure to move with the bot tank—stacking splits the damage of Saber Lash, which hits extremely hard (47,500 base).

Hex Lord Malacrass

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Malacrass comes with 4 adds from a list of 10 possible adds; bots have a fixed priority list for adds based on the recommended kill order and will mark the current target with Skull.
    • If the boss siphons a Warrior soul and channels Whirlwind, bots (other than the tank) will run out.
    • If the boss siphons a Warrior soul and puts up Spell Reflection, casters will stop attacking.
    • If the boss siphons a Hunter soul and lays a Freezing Trap, bots will move away.
    • If the boss siphons a Warlock soul and casts Unstable Affliction, bots will not dispel it.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Make sure to buff the party with Shadow Protection/Prayer of Shadow Protection or have Shadow Resistance Aura active.

Zuljin

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Tanks position the boss in the middle of the platform, except for during Phase 3 (Eagle) when the boss is rooted and Phase 5 (Dragonhawk) when it is best for tanks to have flexibility to move/turn the boss.
    • Bots will avoid Whirlwind in Phase 1 (Troll) and Cyclones in Phase 3.
    • Bloodlust/Heroism will be saved until Phase 3.
    • Ranged spread 6 yards from raid members in Phase 5 to avoid clumping due to the Flame Breath cone.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • None.

Hyjal Summit (The Battle for Mt. Hyjal)

*This raid is completable with suggested IP nerfs.

Trash Mobs

  • Bloodlust and Heroism are disabled in the entire instance except during boss fights—this is because the composition of the trash waves would otherwise cause the abilities to be used on cooldown, making them unavailable for boss fights.
  • There are no strategies in place for handling Hyjal trash. The trash is easy to defeat, but at the Horde base, you will need to lead bots to (1) the back of the base during the Kazrogal trash waves when Gargoyles spawn there and (2) to Infernals throughout the base during Azgalor trash waves. It can also be helpful to have macros to control ranged and melee separately for waves where there is a mix of ground and flying enemies (“/p @melee attack” and “/p @rangeddps attack”).

Rage Winterchill

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Hunters will misdirect the boss to the main tank upon pull.
    • The main tank will pull the boss a bit toward the base.
    • Ranged initially spread in a circle around the boss.
    • All bots will move out of Death and Decay; melee will not attempt to attack the boss if it is impossible to reach him without being in Death and Decay.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • In days past, it was common to equip a PvP trinket for this fight due to how quickly Icebolt could kill a player. Since bots react much more quickly than human players, that is unnecessary (you will probably be healed before even using the trinket).

Anetheron

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Hunters will misdirect the boss to the main tank upon pull and will misdirect Infernals to the first assist tank when they appear.
    • The main tank will pull the boss a bit toward the base.
    • Ranged initially spread in a circle around the boss.
    • There are two Infernal tanking position, East and West of Anetherons tanking position. When a bot is targeted by the Inferno spell, it along with the first assist tank will run to the nearest position, and the first assist tank will pick up the Infernal. Nearby ranged DPS will prioritize killing the Infernal.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Anetheron heals when he attacks so make sure a healing debuff is applied (Mortal Strike, Aimed Shot, or Wound Poison).

Kazrogal

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Hunters will misdirect the boss to the main tank upon pull.
    • The main tank will tank the boss near the base entrance so the raid can start the DPS race as soon as possible.
    • Tanks will stack in front of the boss to split the cleave damage.
    • Ranged fans out in a tight arc in the direction of the base.
    • Bots will attempt to manage the Marks of Kazrogal in multiple ways: (1) Hunters will switch to Aspect of the Viper earlier than usual, (2) Warlocks will use Life Tap earlier than usual, and (3) Mages and Paladins will use Ice Block/Divine Shield if in danger of dying due to mana loss. Otherwise, bots that get low on mana will move away from the group; they will return if they restore a sufficient amount of mana.
    • Warlocks will cast Shadow Ward on themselves, and Paladins will apply Shadow Resistance Aura unless a Priests Shadow Resistance buff is in effect.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Due to the Mark of Kazrogal mechanic, using a Paladin to tank the boss is not recommended.

Azgalor

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Hunters will Misdirect the boss to the main tank upon pull.
    • The main tank will move the boss back toward the base before turning to face the boss toward the entrance.
    • While the main tank is positioning the boss, melee bots will wait back near the base until the boss is in position to avoid getting cleaved.
    • All bots will avoid Rain of Fire; melee will do so by moving away from Azgalor to avoid getting in front of him and getting cleaved.
    • When a bot has Doom cast on them, they will run to a position between the paths leading from Thralls keep. The first assist tank will go there as well to pick up the Doomguard that spawns once the bot with Doom dies.
    • Nearby ranged DPS will prioritize killing the Doomguard (unless Azgalor is under 10%, in which case they will just burn the boss). Melee will also help attack the Doomguard if they are currently unable to reach Azgalor due to Rain of Fire.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Melee will not wait before engaging if the main tank is a human—this is because it cannot be guaranteed that a human tank would know the exact position to bring Azgalor to in order to activate melee. Thus, if you are tanking Azgalor, be careful when positioning him not to get melee cleaved.

Archimonde

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Hunters will misdirect the boss to the main tank upon pull.
    • At the beginning of the fight, the main tank will pull Archimonde a bit up the hill away from the World Tree.
    • If the main tank is near the Air Burst target, or the Air Burst target is the main tank, nearby bots will try to move away from the Air Burst target during its cast.
    • Bots will avoid Doomfires.
    • If a Rogue, Paladin, or Mage is low on HP and afflicted by Doomfire, it will attempt to remove the Doomfire with Cloak of Shadows, Divine Shield, or Ice Block, respectively.
    • Priests will cast Fear Ward on the main tank.
    • Shaman bots will activate the co +tremor strategy to drop Tremor Totems.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Note that bots are generally immune to fall damage, including from Air Burst. You are not, so dont forget your Tears of the Goddess from Tyrande.
    • Bots are coded to “remember” each Doomfire trail for its maximum duration. Sometimes, Doomfires will expire early (unclear why); bots will however continue to stay away from the Doomfire trails prior path until the expiration time is reached, even if no Doomfire in fact remains. This issue is unavoidable because there is no available method from Azerothcore that can be used for bots to actively observe the entire Doomfire trail.
    • The main hazard of the fight is getting feared into Doomfires. If you are having trouble, try bringing a Shaman in every group.\

Black Temple

*This raid is completable with suggested IP nerfs. Note: On almost all bosses, Misdirection is used to assist with the pull and phase transitions.

High Warlord Najentus

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • The active tank has a designated spot not too far away from the boss's spawn point.
    • Ranged attempts to maintain at least 10 yards from the boss and 7 yards from other players to avoid chaining Needle Spines.
    • When a bot is impaled, the nearest non-tank bot will remove the Impaling Spine.
    • When Tidal Shield goes up, after a short delay, bots will throw any Impaling Spines in their inventory to break the shield.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Frost resistance from a Paladin aura or Shaman totem can be helpful for surviving Tidal Burst when the Tidal Shield breaks, as it can deal up to 8,500 damage on each player.

Supremus

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • During the tanking phase, ranged will attempt to maintain at least 8 yards from other players to mitigate the disruptive impact of the Molten Flame trails (which actually chase players).
    • During the kite phase, the fixated bot kites Supremus by running straight away from it.
    • Bots will avoid Volcanos during the kite phase.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • Since bots are not able to take sophisticated paths when kiting, make sure to clear the entire courtyard before pulling the boss.

Shade of Akama

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Melee dps will move onto the platform with the Channelers at the beginning of the encounter and then will mark the Channelers with skull and prioritize them in turn.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • This boss is very easy, but the trash packs in the room have a very high aggro radius. It is recommended to pull them out of the room to clear until your gear is good enough to essentially pull the whole room.

Reliquary of Souls

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies (Essence of Suffering):
    • Tanks attempt to be the closest to the boss since it targets the closest player; meanwhile, ranged and melee dps try to maintain distance from the boss.
    • Normal healing is disabled by multiplier since it does not work; instead, healers are directed to dps the boss. Priests are still allowed to use Power Word: Shield.
  • Coded Strategies (Essence of Desire):
    • Mages are directed to Spellsteal the bosss Rune Shield, but in practice this may not happen because another bot may dispel the buff first.
    • If the tank is a Warrior, it will attempt to use Spell Reflection on Deaden, but in practice, it is very likely that Deaden will be interrupted first.
  • Coded Strategies (Essence of Anger): None
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • While it was common in retail for Reliquary to be the 6th boss attempted, it is highly recommended that Reliquary be killed before Teron Gorefiend because Reliquary has a tendency to pull through the floor on the way to Gorefiend.

Gurtogg Bloodboil

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Tanks will attempt to tank the boss up against the statues behind where the boss spawns.
    • Ranged bots split into 3 groups of 5 bots each. Every 10 seconds, a different group moves to be the farthest from the boss to take the next Bloodboil.
    • When a player gets Fel Rage, bots will move 20 yards away from the targeted player.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • None.

Teron Gorefiend

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Tanks will position the boss near where he spawns.
    • Ranged line up in an arc with their backs up against the balcony.
    • Bots targeted with Shadow of Death will try to escape the spell during the cast if they have an ability that can do so (Vanish, Ice Block, Divine Shield, Feign Death).
    • Bots with Shadow of Death will, when the aura is about to expire, run to the corner of the room left of the entrance to die.
    • Bots killed by Shadow of Death will play the Vengeful Spirit game by using the Spirit's abilities to slow and kill the Shadowy Constructs; they should be able to get all the Constructs down before they reach the raid.
    • Once a bot's Constructs are dead, it will go cast Spirit Strike on the boss and also help any subsequent bot kill Constructs.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • None.

Mother Shahraz

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • Tanks will pull the boss to about under the statue to the left of her starting position (when facing her).
    • Ranged will position under the statue to the right of her starting position; melee dps will also position there until tanks get the boss into position, after which melee dps will attack.
    • Bots with Fatal Attraction will run away from each other to break their chains.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • In original TBC, a considerable amount of shadow resistance was considered mandatory for this fight, but now, none at all is needed.
    • The coded positioning is technically to stop fall damage from Sinister Beam by putting a vertical barrier in the way; this doesn't actually work in practice due to the collision being wonky on AC and bots not really obeying regular collision rules anyway. Plus, bots don't take fall damage so this part of the strategy is just to try to make things look more realistic.

Illidari Council

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed.
  • Coded Strategies:
    • When the Mage tank grabs aggro on Zerevor, it will drag Zerevor over to near the ramp on the left side of the room (facing into the room from the entry). One healer will go over to be the designated healer for the Mage tank.
    • Gathios will be kited by the main tank in a rectangle-ish pattern with four points. Whenever an AoE (Gathios's Consecration or Zerevor's Blizzard or Flamestrike) hits the main tank, it will pull Gathios to the next point. This will continue through the fight.
    • Malande is a caster who does not properly chase, so she is just tanked by the first assist tank wherever she ends up, which in practice is near where she starts.
    • The second assist tank picks up Darkshadow whenever he emerges from Vanish. Darkshadow is moved to Gathios to stack them up for cleave damage.
    • DPS generally targets Darkshadow when he is up; otherwise they target Gathios. Exception: Warriors and Rogues will attack Malande when she doesn't have physical immunity, and Shamans will attack Malande when she doesn't have magic immunity. This is to ensure somebody is available to interrupt her Circle of Healing.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • The Mage tank can have trouble picking up aggro. It can be helpful to have the remainder of the raid stay out of aggro range with nc +stay before the pull, and then to bring the Mage tank into spell range and command the Mage to start the pull with Arcane Blast or Pyroblast.

Illidan Stormrage

  • Defeatable Solo with Bots: Yes, no manual control or command of bots needed, but fire resistance gear for two tanks is nearly mandatory if playing at an appropriate gear level.
  • Coded Strategies (Phase 1 Humanoid):
    • Major cooldowns, including Bloodlust/Heroism, are saved until Phase 3
    • Bots briefly hold DPS at the start of the phase to give the main tank time to establish aggro.
    • The main tank will step back to get out of Flame Crashes.
    • If a bot gets Parasitic Shadowfiend, it will move away from nearby players, and ranged dps will prioritize Parasitic Shadowfiends, along with melee dps but only if Shadowfiends are nearby and low on HP.
  • Coded Strategies (Phase 2 Flames of Azzinoth):
    • The first and second assist tanks handle the Flames of Azzinoth. Before the Flames spawn, the assist tanks move to waiting positions by the glaives. While tanking the Flames, the assist tanks reposition to avoid Blaze patches (moving through set kite paths) and will also sidestep Eye Blast if it is about to pass through them.
    • All other bots move to one of 3 spread positions on the grate, which are set up to be far enough apart not to chain Fireball and also are positioned in a way not to be in range of any (1) Blaze dropped on the standard tank kiting paths or (2) Demon Fire left from an Eye Blast.
    • Melee will stay at the grate positions and will attack Flames only if they come into range.
    • Pets are forced passive so they do not instantly pull aggro or die in the fire.
    • Mages, Paladins, and Rogues will try to remove Dark Barrage with Ice Block, Divine Shield, or Cloak of Shadows.
  • Coded Strategies (Phase 3 Humanoid):
    • As Illidan prepares to land, bots other than the main tank will move away from the landing point. The main tank will follow you, and it is suggested that you bring the main tank to between Illidans landing spot and where the rest of the raid is waiting, which will allow bots to already be close to their assigned positions as soon as the phase starts.
    • Ranged fan out behind Illidan.
    • If a bot is infected with Parasitic Shadowfiend, it will run behind the ranged group and a designated Hunter will go there to drop a Frost Trap to slow the spawned Shadowfiends.
    • Ranged dps will prioritize Shadowfiends over Illidan.
    • The main tank will continue to move Illidan away from Flame Crashes in the same manner as Phase 1.
  • Coded Strategies (Phase 4 Demon):
    • The Warlock tank stays at range, uses Shadow Ward, and spams Searing Pain to hold Illidan.
    • Ranged forms a wide circle around Illidan, leaving sufficient space around the Warlock tank to avoid taking damage from Shadow Blast.
    • Ranged dps prioritizes Shadow Demons first, then Shadowfiends, then Illidan.
    • Melee back away and wait at a farther distance than ranged, but they will move in to attack a Shadow Demon or low-health Shadowfiend.
  • Coded Strategies (Phase 5 Humanoid & Maiev):
    • This is mostly the same as Phase 3, except the main tank will move Illidan to Maeivs Shadow Trap if it is close enough to reasonably reach (if too far away, the trap will be ignored). Then, the closest bot to the trap will trigger it when Illidan is in range.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • If you are playing with significant IP nerfs (probably <70% damage), you will not be able to burn Illidan fast enough to skip Phase 4. In that case, you will need a Warlock tank with significant shadow resistance. When starting out, consider wearing the Medallion of Karabor and the 5-piece crafted set from Ashtongue Deathsworn reputation.
    • Try not to bring Illidan down to 30% health during Phase 4. The Maiev scene does not reset Illidans aggro table (unlike a normal phase transition), and therefore as soon as the scene ends and Phase 5 starts, Illidan will immediately kill your Warlock tank and then start taking out your ranged DPS one-by-one since your tanks likely had no aggro on him during Phase 4.
  • Cheats
    • Bots will clear residual hazards between Phases (Flame Crashes, Blazes, Demon Fires). This is not gated behind the cheat config option; the strategy simply cannot work without this being done.
    • Bots will autokill residual Shadowfiends in Phase 2. It is otherwise extremely difficult for bots to prevent Shadowfiends from spreading during Phase 2 while they are stacked. This is gated behind the cheat config (AiPlayerbot.BotCheats = “raid”).
    • Shadow Demons will have their HP nerfed to 25% of max in Phase 4. It is otherwise extremely difficult for bots to kill Shadow Demons in time due to a lack of a coordinated preemptive AoE strategy. This is gated behind the cheat config.

    • 25-player: 2 tanks, 6 healers, 8 melee DPS, 9 ranged DPS.
  • Both tanks must be bots and must be assigned as the raid's main tank and assist tank. Halion's realm mechanics depend on bot tanks handling both versions of the boss.
  • Ruby Sanctum is post-ICC content. Appropriate endgame gear is required, especially on Heroic difficulty.

    • Phase 3: the raid splits between realms. The main tank and ranged DPS remain in the physical realm; the assist tank and melee DPS move to the Twilight Realm. Healers are split between both realms. Bots reduce damage in the realm that is ahead to keep Halion's health synchronized.
    • Bots do not heal or buff players in the other realm.
  • Tips & Tricks:
    • The player must handle their own mechanics. A player who remains in the raid with Fiery Combustion or Soul Consumption can wipe the group.
    • With Fiery Combustion, run well away from the physical-realm raid before being dispelled.
    • With Soul Consumption, run to the outer edge of the Twilight Realm before being dispelled, avoiding Twilight Cutters and existing void zones.
    • During Phase 3, choose the appropriate realm for your role and help maintain balanced damage. If one realm pushes Halion too far ahead, he gains Corporeality and heals.
    • Move out of Twilight Cutter beams yourself; do not rely on bots to make room for you.
